The FFV8 SERVO CLUTCH
Introducing the Servo Clutch
The new servo actuated clutch is a 6.375 inch multi plate automatic clutch with several new features.
We call it a Servo Clutch, because the pressure plate is a servo. It senses clutch driven RPM, and adjusts the clamping rate & force according to it's settings. It can be adjusted to engage smoothly at low RPM, or hit like a Top Fuel clutch - and anyplace between the two extremes.
Because the new design is modular the drive can be either chain or belt. The input and output side use the same 10 bolt pattern shown below:
Because the drives mount on either end of the clutch, the discs run cooler & there is no heat added to the inside of the belt pulley.
The shaft is 30mm diameter, and runs through the whole assembly. It is stationary, all components rotate on 4 precision ball bearings mounted to the shaft. There is no need for an outboard bearing. A simple outboard mount will support it.
